Soffit and fascia are essential roofline components that protect exposed areas, support attic airflow, and create a clean finished transition between the roof and exterior walls. Soffit encloses the underside of roof overhangs, while fascia covers and protects the roof edge fascia board lumber where the eavestrough system is attached.
When installed correctly, soffit and fascia improve durability at the roofline, help manage moisture movement, and provide a uniform, finished appearance across the exterior.

Working on soffit and fascia across Toronto, Mississauga, and the surrounding GTA has shown us how much these components affect a home beyond appearance. Rooflines vary widely from house to house, especially between older construction and newer builds, and those differences influence ventilation, attachment methods, and long-term performance.
Years of hands-on installation have helped us recognize common problem areas early — uneven framing, inadequate venting, or fascia that isn’t designed to support exterior systems. Addressing these issues properly requires more than standard measurements; it requires an understanding of how air, moisture, and materials behave over time in Ontario’s climate.
All work is completed by Century Aluminum in-house crews using consistent installation practices developed through field experience. This approach allows us to deliver soffit and fascia systems that integrate properly with the rest of the exterior and continue to perform reliably long after installation is complete.

Vented soffit supports intake airflow as part of a balanced roof ventilation system. Proper intake ventilation helps control moisture, reduces condensation risk, and supports more stable roof temperatures during seasonal temperature changes.
Fascia protects the roof edge from weather exposure and prevents ongoing deterioration of underlying materials. Together, soffit and fascia reduce maintenance requirements and help preserve the roofline over time.

Our standard practice is to install 4-panel vented soffit along the entire roofline to support continuous intake ventilation. For porch ceilings and covered areas where ventilation is not required, plain non-vented soffit is installed to maintain a clean, finished ceiling appearance.
Along eavestrough runs, ribbed prefabricated fascia is used for straight alignment and durability. On gables and detailed roof areas, custom-sized fascia is formed on site using heavy-gauge flatstock coil, allowing the fascia to fit properly rather than forcing standard sizes where they do not belong.
We also offer architectural soffit options including wood-grain finishes, for homeowners looking to enhance the appearance of the roofline or porch ceiling while maintaining the long-term durability.
Architectural soffit options include premium profiles such as Cedar Renditions and Moderno & Distinction.

On homes with exposed freeze boards, custom-sized freeze board capping is formed on site to fully cover and protect the board. This capping helps shield the area from moisture exposure while creating a clean, finished transition along the roof edge.
Because freeze board dimensions vary from home to home, capping is fabricated specifically for each installation rather than relying on pre-sized components.
In addition to freeze board capping, we fabricate custom aluminum capping for porch beams, gable boxes, window headers and other transition areas where soffit ties into the structure.

Many older homes have solid or plywood soffit that restricts intake airflow. When new vented soffit is installed over these surfaces, ventilation may still be limited unless the structure is opened.
Where required, ventilation cutouts can be created or existing solid soffit can be removed entirely so the new vented soffit can function as intended. Increasing intake ventilation is important for moisture control and overall roof performance.

The most commonly installed soffit profile is standard 4-panel soffit, which is used for the majority of full soffit replacements and new installations. This profile provides consistent coverage and is readily available in both vented and non-vented configurations.
An older 2-panel soffit profile is also available and is typically used for repairs or partial replacements, or when matching an existing installation is required. This profile has limited color availability and is generally installed only upon request or when continuity with existing materials is necessary.
Fascia profiles vary by application and include prefabricated ribbed fascia as well as custom-formed flatstock fascia for gables, freeze boards, and detailed roof areas.

Soffit and fascia are available in a range of factory-finished colors designed to coordinate with siding, eavestrough, and other exterior elements. Color selection helps maintain a consistent appearance and avoid visual breaks along the roofline.
Where fasteners are visible, matching-color prefinished screws are used. When sealants are required, color-matched sealants are applied where appropriate to blend with the installed materials and maintain a uniform, finished appearance.
Color availability may vary depending on profile type and manufacturer.

Existing soffit, fascia, and related materials are removed and disposed of as part of the installation process. Work areas are left clean once the project is complete.
Most soffit and fascia installations take 1 to 3 days, depending on home size, roofline complexity, and access conditions. Scheduling is coordinated based on scope, weather conditions, and material availability to ensure proper installation and finish quality.
All work is backed by a full workmanship warranty, with details outlined in your project quote.

Soffit and fascia installations are quoted based on roofline layout, access, and existing conditions. Standard installations include removal, installation, and cleanup as outlined above.
Some items may be optional or condition-based and are clearly outlined in your quote when applicable.

Continuous intake ventilation supports balanced airflow and helps manage moisture within the roof space.
In some cases, partial replacement or repairs are possible. This depends on condition, matching requirements, and long-term performance considerations.
Custom components are formed on site to fit non-standard dimensions and require additional material and labor.
If airflow is restricted, ventilation cutouts or removal of the existing material may be required so vented soffit can function properly.
Most projects take between 1 and 3 days, depending on size, complexity, and access.
Available colors are selected to coordinate with siding and eavestrough, with matching fasteners and sealants used where visible.
Yes. We offer architectural soffit options with wood-grain finishes for homeowners who prefer the appearance of natural wood without the ongoing maintenance.
